Beautiful Pan Abode Cedar Home on Puget Sound
Listen to the Waves at Night ,Enjoy Summer on the Beach
    SPECIAL OFFER $1300 A WEEK JUNE 1- OCT 1, 2012

Walk on the beach, sit by the fire, listen to music. Affordable beachfront Pan Abode all-cedar home on Admiralty Inlet/Mutiny Bay at the southwest tip of Whidbey Island overlooking Puget Sound in Freeland, Washington. As the crow flies, it's roughly 30 miles from Seattle, and it's just 40 steps from the beach. It has two large bedrooms and one bath plus a sofa bed in the Den, sleeps 5 to 7. There is a retro fifties-style kitchen and bath, large fireplace with stove, and large deck looking out over a beautiful view of the Olympic mountains. You can see sunsets, wildlife, and active shipping over the main shipping lanes. All the comforts of home but none of the electronic clutter. Good sound system, CDs and DVDs with player.

Staying in this cottage supports a sustainable organic farm that has been operating for 24 years, allowing the farmer to pay his people a living wage. We live a simple life and we have provided a place where you can do that, too.

The view and the beach are outstanding and the view changes hourly, from misty, dark blue water to sea blue with a view of the mountains. Sandy, no-bank beachfront. Located on a dead-end road with plenty of off-street parking. The full-size deck has the view, a charcoal grill, and furniture for eating, sitting and talking, or relaxing and enjoying the view.

The view from this vacation home is outstanding. You can see the beach as it curves around, and directly ahead beyond the water is the peninsula of Washington with Port Townsend at one end.

You see golden or pink and gold sunset,

Just like going to the beach when you were a kid. A door decorated with seahorses welcomes you into to the living area with a large kitchen and living room, complete with warming fireplace stove..

The living room is comfortable and cozy. The pull-out couch is the best room in the house between the view and the fireplace.

There is a retro fifties-style kitchen and bath.

Master bedrom with king size bed has a view of the Sound;

second bedroom with queen and twin beds looks out over the courtyard.

The deck looking out over Mutiny Bay goes the full length of the house and there is furniture for eating, sunbathing, or just sitting and talking.

The home is less than 100 feet from the private no-bank beach. It's called "sugar sand."

This home has been in our family for many years and for that reason, it is comfortable and probably has most of the amenitites that you are looking for. It has a private beach that you can see from the living room as shown below, or you can sit on the deck and enjoy the sun as you enjoy the view.

Things to do on Whidbey Island (and Camano Island)

There is a great grocery just as you turn off for the cabin from 525. (follow the Freeland sign). It's called Pay Less (It has a great selection of organic food)

Across from the grocery there is sometimes a stand of organic food. A local farmer and his wife run it and they have delicious raw Jersey milk and very fresh eggs as well as all kinds of local (and not! I don't think the pineapples came from Whidbey) produce.

There's another grocery store on highway 525 on the way to the cabin. It's called the Goose. (May the Goose be with you is the motto). It's less expensive than Pay Less I think but not as much organic food.

Go on down the street and there are a couple of restaurants one is either Chinese or Thai and John liked it and the other is a sandwich/bakery place and it was good.

Here are some more photos showing the many beautiful views whether the weather is good or bad.

This is the Victoria Clipper heading from Seattle to Victoria, or maybe it's a car ferry (?)
Though Although the houses on each side are close, it's fairly private three houses from a dead-end street and a hill just behind the house.

The view is endlessly changing, from mist and dark blue water
to sea blue water and mountains,
The fireplace is also a stove so it gives a cheerful glow while it is also keeping you warm. There is a supply of firewood.

Fruit trees and flowers decorate the yard.
